Ministry of Cooperatives
Brief
history of the Ministry
The Ministry of Cooperatives was first formed as the Ministry
of State Cooperative and Commodity Distribution on 5th April,
1951. On 26th March, 1962, it was united with the Ministry of
Civil Supply Services and was named as the Ministry of Civil Supply
and Cooperatives. On 18th June 1965, it was established as a separate
Ministry by the name of the Ministry of Cooperatives.
Organizational
structure of the Ministry
Under the Ministry of Cooperatives, there are two Departments
and one Enterprise; namely- the Cooperative Department, the Cottage
Industries Department and Cooperative Export Import Enterprise.
The organizational structure and main functions of the Ministry

Cooperative identity which promotes cooperative socio economic

and knowledge among the people. |

of cooperative socio economic activities. |
